Art Process: Seascape Watercolor

I am not, by trade, a watercolorist. But I love to use watercolor as a kind of art meditation. While I was in Chinook, Washington this past October on a writing retreat, I took some time to capture my seaview on paper with watercolor. This provided me a wonderful opportunity to slow down, arrive at the present moment, and retune my body to the living earth and ocean before me.

In this video, I share my painting process from beginning to end. This footage was originally part of a much longer video about my studio process, included in the Samhain bundle for the Creative Alchemy Cycle.

Do you use art as a meditative tool?

What mediums do you find most relaxing and centering?
