Throwing Pots
I have always wanted to learn how to throw pottery on a wheel. It's an ancient and earthy art form that suits my penchant for centered action and repetition. I've had the opportunity to sit at a wheel with a hunk of clay and found it to be completely entrancing.
Turn, turn my wheel!
Turn round and round
Without a pause, without a sound:
so spins the flying world away.
This clay, well mixed with marl and sand,
Follows the motion of my hand;
Far some must follow,
And some command;
Though all are made of clay.
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
