Austin - Hotel Saint Cecilia
What: Hotel Saint Cecilia
Where: Austin, Texas
Driving time from my house: 3 hrs 30 min
Welcome to a whole week of exploring Texas! Each day this week, I'll be posting about great vacation spots close to my home in Dallas. At only three and a half hours from my home, Austin seems like a good place to start our "backyard" vacation. If we start out early and its the right time of year, we can swing out to the Lady Bird Wildflower Park in the late morning to satisfy my soft spot for botanical gardens. Then we'll grab lunch at some yummy Tex-Mex place before checking in at Hotel Saint Cecilia.
Hotel Saint Cecilia seems like the perfect mix of vintage rock 'n roll meets Southern hospitality. The rooms are gorgeous, the communal spaces inviting and the vibe - very groovy. You can read a great interview with Saint Cecilia owner and creator Liz Lambert HERE.
After borrowing a couple of bikes from the hotel for a ride around the area, we'll head down town to the Wearhouse district for some live music and food. We might eat at Parkside and then head over to Moonshine for a nightcap. When we return to Saint Cecelia for the evening, we'll probably take a dip in their pool before heading back to our room. Goodnight Austin!
